Interstate 81 was closed at exit 38 southbound near Sandy Creek Friday due to lake effect snow. Interstate 81 was closed in both directions from the Jefferson County line down to Pulaski at approximately 1:16 p.m. Wednesday, as a result of an accident that occured involving a car and a jackknifed tractor-trailer that the Sandy Creek Fire Department said resulted in two injuries. The northbound side reopened at approximately 3:15 p.m., and the southbound side reopened at approximately 4:53 p.m. The names or conditions of those injured are not yet available.
