Jefferson Community College will host a workshop for local officials and the public on the impact of Fort Drum's growth on the area from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 20 in the Jules Center Amphitheater, 1220 Coffeen St.
It will include information on Fort Drum activities that influence nearby communities, changes in populations and
demographics, infrastructure improvements, and before and after examples of other communities that have experienced similar military growth.
The workshop is being organized by the Fort Drum Regional Liaison Organization, the Tug Hill Commission, the Center for Community Studies at JCC and the Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence county planning departments.
