LYONS FALLS — A railroad line in Lewis and Oneida counties for the third straight year will receive state funding for track rehabilitation.
Mohawk Adirondack and Northern Railroad Corp. has been awarded $1.49 million for repairs to its line from here to Utica. The company received similar awards in 2006 and 2007.
The Passenger and Freight Rail Assistance Program funding, announced Monday, is part of $20 million in grants awarded this year. The program is administered by the state Department of Transportation.
