LISBON — Carl L. Morrison, 74, Pray Road, died Friday at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg, after being stricken ill at home.

Mr. Morrison was a member of the Lisbon Young Farmers Association and a dairy and poultry farmer. He hatched many kinds of poultry eggs in his incubator and had a steady market for eggs and dressed fowl at holiday time. He and his family lost their dairy farm twice by fire, in 1975 and 1982, and rebuilt.

Born Oct. 6, 1933, in Lisbon, son of Orrin and Flora Burnside Morrison, he attended Lisbon rural schools.

He married Frances Flint on Nov. 2, 1961, at the United Presbyterian Church. The couple had resided in the family home for 46 years. The house has been in the family since 1904.

The Morrisons held round and square dances in the loft of their barn. He enjoyed watching deer and turkeys and his annual birthday trip to Lake Placid to view the fall foliage.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven A. and Michelle C., Waldorf, Md., and Thomas O., Potsdam; two daughters, Sara A. Morrison, Ogdensburg, and Amanda E. Morrison, Buffalo; two brothers and their wives, James S. and Dorothy, Canton, and Francis A. and Doris F., Ogdensburg; two sisters, Helen F. Smithers, Heuvelton, and Jane C. Winters, LaFargeville, three grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A son, Robert M., died Nov. 27, 1993.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fox-McLellan Funeral Home, Ogdensburg, with the Rev. Walter F. Smith officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery, North Lawrence.
