OGDENSBURG — The funeral for Frederick M. Conger Sr., 67, of 508 Main St., will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Notre Dame Church with the Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
Mr. Conger died Friday at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Frary Funeral Home.
He worked in the construction trade as a laborer all his life. Mr. Conger also was a carpenter and for a time he worked in the construction trade in Florida.
He was a past member of the local Moose Lodge and enjoyed woodworking and mechanical work.
Born Sept. 25, 1940, in Brier Hill, son of Myron and Mildred Ashley Conger, he attended local schools.
He married Agnes Shannon. The marriage ended in divorce. He later married Beatrice Love. That marriage ended in divorce.
Surviving are his longtime companion, Cherraetta Recore, Ogdensburg; three sons and their wives, Frederick Jr. "Rick" and Tammy, Steven and Patricia and Gregory and Patty, all of Ogdensburg; a daughter and her husband, Vicki and John Woodard, Ogdensburg; three brothers, Art, Michael and James, all of Rochester, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Barbara Conger, died in 1992. A brother, Robert, and two sisters, Eva and Agnes Conger, also died before him.
