Stone solid as a rock on pitcher's mound for Golden Bears
COMPLETE-GAME VICTORY: Hurler lasts 10 innings, delivers decisive hit for Canton in NAC Central Division win against Potsdam

CANTON — Canton's Brad Stone pitched all 10 innings and rewarded himself with the game-winning hit in the bottom of the 10th of a marathon 2-1 win over Northern Athletic Conference Central Division baseball foe Potsdam on Wednesday.

Stone struck out only five batters and allowed eight hits, but gave up only one run in the top of the third inning for Canton (4-3 overall, 4-2 league).

Potsdam's Jerry Coleman pitched four innings of no-hit baseball before Chris Reece took the mound for the rest of the game. Reece gave up only two-hits. He also smacked two singles for Potsdam (6-2, 5-2).

MALONE 4, MASSENA 0

Paul Rose gave up four hits en route to a complete-game shutout of the Red Raiders in a Central Division contest in Massena.

Rose struck out six batters for the Huskies. Casey Warner drove in the only earned run of the day for Malone (6-4, 2-4).

Massena (5-3, 5-2) got hits from Garrett Sharlow, Allen Bourdon, Taylor Zappia and Sean Ryan.

OFA 17, TUPPER LAKE 1

Brendan Merna struck out 12 batters and allowed just one run in a Central Division win for the Blue Devils over the Lumberjacks in Ogdensburg.

Gene Bouyer smacked three singles and collected two RBIs for Ogdensburg Free Academy (5-1). Andy Ladouceur also had three hits for the Blue Devils.

Steve Doolen doubled to highlight the offense for Tupper Lake (2-7, 1-6).

ST. LAWRENCE 10,

BRUSHTON-MOIRA 9

St. Lawrence scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, and Quinn Patraw pitched a scoreless seventh to earn a come-from-behind East Division victory over the Panthers.

Matt Aldous got the winning hit, part of a two-hit, two-RBI night for the Larries (4-4, 4-3).

Brandon Young had three hits and scored three times to lead Brushton-Moira (4-3, 4-1).

SALMON RIVER 6-5, CHATEAUGAY 1-4

The Shamrocks came from behind twice and swept an East Division doubleheader against the Bulldogs in Chateaugay.

Stephen Durant played a key role in both contests. In the first, he doubled in a pair of runs as part of a four-run fourth inning for Salmon River (5-0). He connected for the winning hit in the bottom of the fifth in game two after Marc Plante walked and moved to second on a passed ball.

Jordan Smith had one hit and one RBI in each game for Chateaugay (3-4).

SACKETS HARBOR 9,

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 6

Jordan Williams had three hits and four RBIs as the Patriots rallied to upend the Panthers in a Frontier League "D" Division game at Belleville.

Gage LeClair sparked a seventh-inning rally with a two-out double and finished with three hits for Sackets Harbor (8-2, 7-2).

Robert Woytowicz generated three hits for Belleville Henderson (0-10).

ALEXANDRIA 12, LYME 11

Ben Cole went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs as the Purple Ghosts edged the Indians in a "D" Division game at Alexandria Bay.

Brian Sanford added a home run, and Tom Hayes was 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs for Alexandria (4-5, 3-5).

Josh Lothrop recorded two hits for Lyme (4-6, 4-5).

LAFARGEVILLE 11, COPENHAGEN 3

Brandon Davis went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and earned the victory on the mound as the Red Knights rolled past the Golden Knights in a "D" Division game in LaFargeville.

Dan Mills finished with three hits and drove in a run for LaFargeville (2-7, 2-5). Jim Fisher smacked an RBI double to lead Copenhagen (5-5, 5-4).

THOUSAND ISLANDS 15,

SANDY CREEK 2

Allen Dwyer went 3-for-4, drove in three runs, and picked up the victory on the mound as the Vikings rolled to a "C" Division win at Clayton.

Tyler Forger added two hits for Thousand Islands (7-5, 6-4), which plated 10 runs in the second inning. Cory Kendall contributed two RBIs.

Taylor Ouderkirk finished 3-for-3 with an RBI for the Comets (5-7).
