Yellow Jackets' Uppstrom tosses no-hitter at Saints
EAST DIVISION WIN: Madrid-Waddington gains first victory of season in impressive fashion against winless St. Regis Falls

ST. REGIS FALLS — David Uppstrom threw a no-hitter, leading Madrid-Waddington to an 8-0 win over St. Regis Falls in a Northern Athletic Conference East Division baseball game Friday.

The Yellow Jackets pounced on St. Regis Falls (0-5 overall and division) for five runs in the top off the first inning. Andrew Lindsey, Kyle Lawrence and Justin Putney each had two hits to lead the Yellowjackets (1-8, 1-6).

POTSDAM 7, GOUVERNEUR 3

Jerry Coleman went 3-for-4 to lead Potsdam (7-2, 6-2) past the Wildcats in a Central Division game in Gouverneur.

Winning pitcher Mike Scancarello went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs, and Chris Reece also had two hits for Potsdam. Chad Woods went 2-for-4, including a double, for the Wildcats (1-5).

MALONE 10, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 6

Daniel Marshall went 3-for-3, including two doubles, and also drew two walks to lead the Huskies (8-4, 4-4) past Malone in a Central Division game in Malone. Brock Bannon added two hits for Malone.

Kirk Colbert went 3-for-3 and drove in two runs to lead the Flyers (3-5, 1-5).

OFA 8, CANTON 1

Gene Bouyer supplied two hits, including a home run, to lead OFA past the Golden Bears (4-4, 4-3) in a Central Division game in Canton.

Joel Abar, Tylor Stevenson and Nick Wallace each had two hits for OFA (6-1).

BEAVER RIVER 10, LYME 6

Jay Augustyn went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs to help the Beavers win a Frontier League crossover game at Beaver Falls.

Devin Widrick and Shane Scanlon each provided two hits and an RBI for Beaver River (11-2, 9-2), and Marcus Roggie also had a pair of hits.

Cory Walker led Lyme (4-7, 4-6) with three hits, including a triple.

COPENHAGEN 9,

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 1

Pat Snyder generated three hits, including a triple, and two RBIs in addition to a complete-game victory in "D" Division action at Copenhagen.

Shane Berghorn had two hits and two RBIs, while one of Ben Freeman's two hits was a triple. Jimmy Fisher also provided two hits for the Golden Knights (6-5, 6-4).

Chris Leen crossed the plate in the third for the Panthers (0-11).

LAFARGEVILLE 6, SOUTH JEFFERSON 5

Matt Schofield smacked a two-run double, and Connor Taylor belted a two-run triple as the Red Knights used a four-run, fifth inning to edge the Spartans in a nonleague game in LaFargeville.

Brandon Davis supplied two hits and struck out seven batters in the victory for LaFargeville (3-8). Luke St. Hilaire contributed two hits to lead South Jefferson (5-7).
