CARTHAGE — Katie Ferris tallied six goals, and Katherine DeRonda added three goals and seven assists as Carthage defeated Cazenovia 18-9 for a nonleague girls lacrosse victory Friday.

Kailah Kempney supplied three goals while Gabrielle Kamide finished with two goals and three assists for the Comets (10-3), ranked sixth in the state in Class B.

Kara Cannizarro led Cazenovia, ranked ninth in the state in Class C, with five goals and two assists.

SOUTH JEFFERSON 12,

MANLIUS PEBBLE HILL 6

Shelby Wood accounted for three goals and one assist, and the Spartans earned a victory in the first round of the South Jefferson Booster Club Tournament at Adams.

Maria Behling and Whitley Perry each tacked on three goals, and Katie Males made nine saves for South Jefferson (7-5).

Meghan Crawford scored four goals for the Trojans (5-5).

Emily Bush scored three goals and the Bulldogs came back from a two-goal halftime deficit in a league game at Potsdam.

Danielle Tani added two goals for Heuvelton (5-7, 5-3).

Tess Hazen and Ginette Cornett each had two goals for Potsdam (3-6, 2-6).

Molly Morrow scored seven goals to lead the Blue Devils in a league matchup in Ogdensburg.

Chelsea Martin added five goals and two assists, and Holli Cota made 20 saves for Ogdensburg Free Academy (5-5, 5-3).

Alanna Darling paced Massena (1-8, 1-6) with three goals, while Anna Riley tallied two goals and three assists.

David Pynchon scored four goals and assisted on two others to lead the Golden Bears to a Northern Athletic Conference triumph in Heuvelton.
