POTSDAM — The St. Lawrence County Arts Council will feature a new exhibit of photography on handmade paper by Potsdam artist Ed Clark titled "Mandalas and Manhole Covers," which will be on display from Saturday, May 24, through Friday, June 20, at the arts council gallery, 51 Market St.

"Mandalas and Manhole Covers" explores round themes and symmetrical designs in nature and architecture through the use of digital photography and handcrafted papers.

The images capture the beauty and utility of everyday details from Mr. Clark's travels through Spain and Northern New York. The papers are custom made from a variety of plant fibers to enhance the colors and textures of each photograph.

An opening reception will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at the gallery.
