OGDENSBURG — Janet M. Wheater has been named District 9 Town Clerk of the Year by the state Town Clerks Association.

She has served as Oswegatchie town clerk since 1992, and has been a member of the association for 16 years. Mrs. Wheater received the honor at the annual NYSTCA conference, held in Saratoga Springs from April 27 to April 30. District 9 is comprised of town clerks from St. Lawrence, Franklin, Essex and Clinton counties.

Mrs. Wheater will be presented with a plaque in recognition of her dedication at tonight's Oswegatchie Town Council meeting.
