NAUMBURG — A small bridge on Second Road in the town of Croghan was switched Monday to a one-lane span after being red-flagged for structural deficiencies.
The state Department of Transportation is requiring replacement of the superstructure, or driving surface, of the bridge over Swiss Creek, located near Rohr Road, said Thomas M. Sweet, Lewis County's superintendent of highways. "I'm trying to get some prices," he said.
Mr. Sweet was unsure how long it will take to repair the bridge, noting that a lot will depend on availability of pre-cast beams.
