WHS hangs on to gain win over General Brown

DEXTER — Watertown raced to a five-goal halftime lead, then barely held for a 9-8 Frontier League victory over General Brown in girls lacrosse Monday.

Lindsay Gefell scored four goals to lead Watertown (13-1 overall, 6-1 league), and Rachel Schneeberger added three goals and one assist.

Pam Roukous led the Lions (6-7, 2-5) with three goals, and Jenna Flath scored two goals.

CARTHAGE 20, SOUTH JEFFERSON 3

Katie Ferris registered six goals and Gabrielle Kamide finished with five goals and four assists to help the Comets control a Frontier League game at Adams.

Katherine DeRonda added three goals and five assists for Carthage (11-3, 8-0).

Maria Behling, Kristina Fahsel, and Stephanie Green scored for South Jefferson (7-7, 2-5), which was shut out in the second half.

On Saturday, the Spartans dropped a 15-11 decision to Central Square in the championship game of the South Jefferson tournament. Behling led the attack with four goals and two assists.

MASSENA 8, SARANAC LAKE 7

Kiley Buckshot tallied four goals to lead the Red Raiders (2-8, 2-5) past Saranac Lake in a Northern Athletic Conference game in Massena. Paulina Behrens added two goals for Massena.

OFA 9, NORTHWOOD PREP 8

Chelsea Martin scored three goals, including the game-winner with 45 seconds left, to lead OFA (5-5) past the Northwood Prep School in a nonleague game in Ogdensburg.
