CARTHAGE — Katie Jones came within one out of a no-hitter as Carthage defeated Immaculate Heart Central 7-0 in a Frontier League "A" Division softball game Monday.

Jones finished with eight strikeouts before allowing a two-out single to IHC's Sarah Ward in the top of the seventh. Sarah Johnson went 3-for-4, while Jessica Wilkinson drove in four runs for Carthage (7-7 overall, 5-3 league).

WATERTOWN 15, INDIAN RIVER 5

Alicia Uhlein drove in three runs and went 4-for-5 as the Cyclones won an "A" Division game at Philadelphia.

Jennifer Jones added three hits, and Aubrey Kettrick collected five RBIs for the Cyclones (3-12, 2-5), who recorded 17 hits. Brittany Patenaude also provided a double and a triple for Watertown.

Ashley Furtick smacked a double and a triple for the Warriors (6-4, 2-6).

SOUTH LEWIS 4, LOWVILLE 3

Nancy Newell slapped a two-run single in the first inning, and the Falcons held on to win a crossover game at Turin.

Jessica Becker went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Lowville (9-3, 7-3), which outhit South Lewis (9-8, 7-4) by 11-3.

ALEXANDRIA 3, COPENHAGEN 2

Cassie Lingenfelter struck out 13 and allowed just two hits as the Purple Ghosts edged the Golden Knights in a "D'' Division game at Alexandria Bay.

Alexandria (5-7, 4-6) scored all three runs in the sixth, aided by an error and singles by Sbrina Sochia, Ashley Scott and Kelsey Williams.

Olivia Sullivan yielded just four hits for Copenhagen (3-11, 3-8).

LAFARGEVILLE 6,

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 3

Rachel Klock and Amanda Jaro had two RBIs each to lead the Red Knights past the Panthers in a "D" Division game at Belleville.

Alyssa Williams added two hits and stole three bases for LaFargeville (7-4, 5-4).

Bailey Allen and Brittany Grimshaw had two hits apiece for Belleville Henderson (4-9, 4-8).

OFA 12, TUPPER LAKE 0

Katie Nelson struck out 16 and threw a one-hit shutout to lead OFA to a win over Tupper Lake in a Northern Athletic Conference Central Division game in Ogdensburg.

She also added three hits for the Blue Devils (5-3 overall and division). MaryBeth Davis added a two-run homer for OFA.

Amber Lawyer broke up Nelson's no-hitter for Tupper Lake (0-8) with a two-out single in the sixth inning.

EDWARDS-KNOX 15, CLIFTON-FINE 11

Emily Fuller picked up three hits to lead the Cougars (10-1, 9-0) past Clifton-Fine in a West Division game in Star Lake.

Miranda Typhair, Vanessa Bullock and Kristyn Tebo each had two hits for Edwards-Knox.

LISBON 4, MORRISTOWN 2

Jessie Mehaffy struck out six to lead Lisbon (6-2) past the Green Rockets in a West Division game in Morristown. Paige Aldridge and Megan Kanaly each had two hits for Morristown (3-11, 2-8).

HARRISVILLE 8, HERMON-DEKALB 4

Jeri Baker hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth as the Pirates (3-6) snapped a 2-2 tie by scoring six runs in a West Division game in Harrisville.

Katie French went 2-for-3, including a triple, and drove in two runs and Sam Wood went 2-for-4 for Harrisville. Whitney Stiles went 2-for-4 for the Demons .

HEUVELTON 13, HAMMOND 4

Casey Donnelly struck out 14 and allowed just three hits to lead the Bulldogs past Hammond (6-2) in a West Division game in Heuvelton.

Donnelly also went 2-for-5 and drove in three runs for the Bulldogs (8-5, 6-3). Heather Johnson and Sam Weaver each had three hits for Heuvelton.
