A Natural Bridge man has been implicated with his son in a criminal investigation for the second time in less than a year.
Timmy L. Markwick, 42, was arrested Tuesday by state police on charges of second-degree criminal mischief and obstructing governmental administration. He was released on $5,000 bail, set by Carthage Village Justice S. Lucille Shettleton.
Troopers allege that on Christmas Day, he used his plow to push and hide a vehicle that his son allegedly had stolen and wrecked.
His son, Jeremiah L. Markwick, 19, Natural Bridge, was charged May 3 with third-degree grand larceny, second-degree criminal mischief and obstructing governmental administration in the incident, which involved a vehicle owned by Amanda Garvey, Natural Bridge.
In July, after the son was accused of a residential burglary, Mr. Markwich went to his son's defense by forcing his way into the Natural Bridge Cafe to confront a woman who had filed the burglary complaint. While the father was convicted in Jefferson County Court on a criminal trespass count, a grand jury dismissed charges against his son. Mr. Markwick was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge, which included doing 20 hours of community service work, and was assessed $160 in court fees.
