Sackets Harbor pulls off repeat as champion in 'D' Division

COPENHAGEN — Danielle Intschert connected for a three-run triple in the top of the third on Friday to help Sackets Harbor seal its second consecutive Frontier League "D" Division regular-season softball championship with a 5-1 decision over Copenhagen.

Intschert finished with four RBIs and also had a double for Sackets Harbor (12-7 overall, 10-3 league).

Shawnee Rice struck out 12 for the Patriots, while Copenhagen's Olivia Sullivan turned in a strong performance, too.

Sullivan fanned 10 batters, and Martha Sullivan hit a double for the Golden Knights (3-13, 3-10).

APW 9, LOWVILLE 2

Brooke Radley went 3-for-4 as the Rebels earned a "B" Division win over the host Red Raiders.

The loss dropped Lowville to 9-5, 7-5, and gave South Jefferson the regular-season division title.

Chanelle Morse led the Red Raiders with two hits. Lowville's Cheyenne Morse tallied 14 strikeouts.

Altmar-Parish-Williamstown (8-8, 6-7) took control with five runs in the fourth.

THOUSAND ISLANDS 8,

BEAVER RIVER 0

Jamie Wiley went 4-for-5 with two doubles as the Vikings won a "C" Division game at Beaver Falls.

Cheyenne Diprinzio had two triples, while Brittany Ward and Sara Orvis each produced two hits. Jessica Wiley allowed just two hits while striking out six. She issued only one walk.

Miranda Austin hit a double for the Beavers (6-11, 4-11).

SANDY CREEK 6, SOUTH LEWIS 4

Tayler Fravel hit a sacrifice fly in the first, and slammed a homer in the seventh, and the Comets won a "C" Division game at Turin.

Megan Kraeger and Suzy Fazekas each had two hits for the Falcons (12-9, 10-5).

The Comets improved to 17-1, 14-0.

IMMACULATE HEART 5,

WATERTOWN 3

Rachael Donnelly threw the complete-game win, allowing three hits, and the Cavaliers picked up an "A" Division victory over the host Cyclones at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.

The Cavaliers' infield played errorless ball, which was key in the victory, according to Immaculate Heart Central coach Tony Gullo.

Donnelly also contributed two hits for IHC (4-10, 1-8).

Watertown dropped to 3-14, 2-7.

ST. REGIS FALLS 20,

PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 7

Brittany Fountain struck out six batters in a complete-game performance in a Northern Athletic Conference East Division win over the Panthers at St. Regis Falls.

Krista Lucas went 4-for-5 with a triple, and Danielle Fountain and Aleesha LaBounty added three hits each for the Saints (3-7).

Bonnie Tipping hit a solo home run for Parishville-Hopkinton (5-8, 3-7).

HERMON-DEKALB 10, MORRISTOWN 5

Natasha Sayer hit three triples, pitched a complete game and drove in three runs to lead the Demons past the Green Rockets in a West Division game at Morristown.

Marissa Bacon and Courtney Brabaw each hit two singles for Hermon-DeKalb (6-9, 6-7).

Katie Porter hit a two-run home run to highlight the game for Morristown (3-14, 2-10).

HEUVELTON 13, HARRISVILLE 3

Heather and Megan Johnson combined for four hits and four RBIs to propel the Bulldogs to a West Division win at Heuvelton.

Casey Donnelly pitched the win and scored two runs. She struck out 11 hitters for Heuvelton (10-5, 8-3).

Nicole Lesperance and Nichole French each had an RBI in a three-run second inning, and also had the only two hits for Harrisville (3-8).

EDWARDS-KNOX 15, LISBON 0

Miranda Typhair recorded 11 strikeouts in a one-hitter to lift the Cougars past the Golden Knights in a West Division game at Edwards.

Typhair added a home run and three RBIs for Edwards-Knox (12-3, 11-1).

Briana Teele delivered the hit for Lisbon (8-3, 7-3). It was a double in the second inning for the Golden Knights.

POTSDAM 7, TUPPER LAKE 3

Corina Simonelli went 3-for-4 with two doubles to lead the Sandstoners past the Lumberjacks in a Central Division game at Tupper Lake.

Gwenn Lillie smacked a double and three hits for Potsdam (5-8, 3-7).

Amber Lawyer went 2-for-3 with a single and a double to lead Tupper Lake (0-11).

MALONE 20, GOUVERNEUR 2

Erica Johnson and Ashley Marshall each had three hits in a Central Division win over the Wildcats at Gouverneur.

Meaghan Patterson earned the win and struck out six batters for Malone (13-0, 11-0).

Danni Easton collected two hits with a single and a double for Gouverneur (4-7, 4-6).

CANTON 12, CARTHAGE 0

Kacie Wentworth struck out 12 batters and allowed just two hits to lead the Golden Bears to a nonleague win over Carthage in Canton.

Wentworth added two hits, and Heather Lottie hit a two-run home run for Canton (16-1). The Golden Bears opened the game with 10 runs in the first inning.

Sarah Johnson and Katie Jones had one hit each for the Comets (7-6).
