A Carthage man was sentenced Monday in Jefferson County Court to five years' probation for injuring another man in a snowmobile accident in January.
Timothy A. Danks,20, of 22451 County Route 47, had pleaded guilty March 31 to second-degree attempted assault for causing injuries to teenager Anthony P. Colangelo, who was passenger on his snowmobile.
Mr. Danks was accused of operating a snowmobile at a high speed while carrying Mr. Colangelo on Jan. 19 in the town of Champion. The machine hit a ditch, ejecting both Mr. Danks and his passenger. Mr. Colangelo, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered broken bones in his back and neck, according to court documents.

Eric D. Young III,55, of 23261 Route 11, pleaded guilty to two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny. Sentencing was set for July 21.
He was accused of stealing more than $11,600 from the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers between September 2003 and February 2006 by deducting union dues from union members' paychecks, but not remitting the money to the union. He also was accused of receiving $59,500 from Knowlton Specialty Papers for services done at the mill and not distributing it to the union.
Kay G. McNeil,45, of 48 Main St., Hammond, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny and is due to be sentenced July 2. She was accused of stealing about $20,800 from Duty Free America, Wellesley Island, where she was an office manager. According to court documents, she took money intended to be deposited at a bank, but never made the deposits.
Lawrence E. Simpson,76, formerly of Theresa, pleaded guilty to felony driving while intoxicated. Sentencing was set for July 1. Mr. Simpson, who has been convicted of DWI more than a dozen times, was charged with DWI in June 1999 at Hyde Lake Road and Route 26 in the town of Theresa. He failed to show up for a January 2001 trial in the matter and fled the area. He was arrested in March in Talladega, Ala.
Christopher M. Parker,25, Evans Mills, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and is due to be sentenced July 7. He was accused Nov. 19 of stealing several hundred pounds of brass and copper tubing from the defunct Deferiet Paper Mill property.
Jesse D. Weeks,26, of 15749 Route 12E, Dexter, pleaded guilty to second-degree forgery. Sentencing was set for July 11. He was accused of forging the name of his mother, Joan M. Weeks, to three checks he stole from her and then cashing them for a total of $385.
Clifton A. Jackson,39, formerly of Buffalo, but who is now incarcerated in the federal prison in Allenwood, Pa., pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Sentencing was set for June 30. He was accused of having 41/2 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle's trunk during an April 2007 inspection at the Wellesley Island port of entry.
David L. McGrath,25, Bronx, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Sentencing was set for July 22. He was accused of selling cocaine in Watertown in early October.
Sara M. Hargrave,19, of 5433 Old State Road, Carthage, pleaded guilty to petit larceny and is due to be sentenced July 7. She was accused of issuing nine fake refunds totaling $670 and then keeping the money while working at the Carthage Market, 120 Riverside Drive, Carthage.
Daniel J. Hoaglin,29, formerly of Antwerp, but whose whereabouts are now unknown, was sentenced in his absence to time served and a conditional discharge after pleading guilty Sept. 13 to third-degree attempted intimidating a witness.
He was accused of making a terroristic threat July 10 after two witnesses at Mike's Tavern, Main Street, Antwerp, told police he had come into the bar and threatened to kill state Trooper Lyndsey Morrow and unidentified members of the Antwerp Rescue Squad. Mr. Hoaglin, a veteran of combat in the Middle East, told witnesses he would commit the acts if he was not provided information about ongoing legal issues in which he was involved, according to court documents.
Derek J. Dwyer,22, of 17120 County Route 53, Apt. 58A, Dexter, admitted violating probation and was resentenced to six months in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, with credit for time served.
He was sentenced March 10 to three years' probation after pleading guilty Jan. 14 to fourth-degree criminal mischief for punching out a window on a woman's minivan. According to court documents, he violated probation by being charged with petit larceny April 21 for allegedly stealing a bicycle.
Joshua J. Johnson,30, of 369 Flower Ave. E., admitted violating probation and was resentenced to nine months in the PSB, with credit for time served. He was sentenced Jan. 14 to five years' probation after pleading guilty in November to fourth-degree grand larceny for stealing more than $2,700 worth of copper from a National Grid storage building on VanDuzee Street. According to court documents, he violated probation by continuing to use illegal drugs while under probation supervision.
Joshua P. Stone,28, of 34735 County Route 46, Theresa, admitted violating probation and was resentenced to one year in the PSB. He was sentenced in February 2007 to five years' probation after pleading guilty in December 2006 to fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for having cocaine in Watertown. According to documents, he violated probation by failing to comply with substance abuse treatment recommendations.
Pamela A. Moore,48, of 14439 County Route 66, Adams Center, admitted violating probation and was discharged from probation as a failure. There also was a $45,625 civil judgment entered against her.
Her probation supervision was due to expire May 27, but she had paid only $10,332 in restitution toward a total of more than $45,000 remaining due, prompting the probation violation. Information about why she was on probation and why she owed restitution was not available from the court because she had been sentenced to probation in Onondaga County.
