Police say they found 10 grams of cocaine and three guns shortly after 6 a.m. Monday in a raid on an apartment in the town of Pamelia.
Eddie E. Williams Jr., 30, of 22625 Plaza Drive, Apt. 3, was arrested on charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was sent to jail at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building by Pamelia Town Justice Richard C. Baker. Bail is set at $50,000.
The state police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team obtained a search warrant and was assisted in the raid by a state police Mobile Response Team and the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force. Police said the cocaine is valued at about $1,000. The guns were a .22-caliber pistol, a 9 mm pistol and a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun. Scales and a small quantity of marijuana also were found, police said.
A woman and her 4-year-old child were in the apartment, police said. No charges were immediately filed against the woman.
