OGDENSBURG — City Attorney Katherine A. Wears will be stepping down after more than 28 years to become associate dean at Clarkson University's School of Business, Potsdam.

Mrs. Wears said Wednesday that no official date has been determined for when she'll leave the part-time position.

"It has been a very rewarding experience," Mrs. Wears said. "I'm very proud to have served my hometown. It has always been a dream of mine."

She has been teaching classes in business law and ethics law at Clarkson since December 1990. City Manager Arthur J. Sciorra said he wasn't sure yet whether a part-time attorney would be hired or a law firm retained on an "as needed" basis.
