YOUTH BASEBALL

The 26th annual Willie Putnam Memorial Baseball Tournament begins tonight and runs through Sunday.

Some 44 teams in 11 different brackets are scheduled to compete at three fields in Cape Vincent, three fields in Chaumont, and single fields in Brownville, Dexter and Glen Park. There is no admission.

The field includes 15 teams from the Thousand Island Baseball Conference, 10 from Canada and the rest from Watertown, Croghan, the South Jefferson area, Gouverneur, Sandy Creek, Harrisville and Liverpool.
