The New York Farm Viability Institute is seeking proposals for agricultural projects that feature innovative outreach and education efforts.

The submission deadline for the annual Education Innovation Network program, which offers funds for new approaches in outreach education, is July 31.

The deadline for the Applied Research Partnership grant program, which focuses on practical, farm-based improvement efforts, is Sept. 9.

None of the funded projects may exceed $250,000 each. Funded projects may last for up to two years.

Eligible grant applicants include farmers, producer groups, researchers, educators, organizations, agencies and businesses. Applicants may represent nonprofit or for-profit sectors.

The New York Farm Viability Institute is an independent, farmer-led nonprofit group that receives state funds.

Application guidelines and information on each of the Institute's grant programs are available on the Web under programs and projects at www.nyfvi.org.
