A Bronx man has been indicted on charges that he had and sold heroin in Watertown in 2006.
Albert Bonano,30, faces counts of fourth-degree conspiracy and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, as well as third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The charges were contained in a grand jury indictment unsealed Wednesday in Jefferson County Court. It is alleged that he sold the drug in the city in November 2006 and that he engaged in a conspiracy with others to have and sell the drug between the spring and summer of 2006. He returned to the Bronx shortly after the alleged crimes occurred.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $25,000 bail.
In other court activity Wednesday,Christopher C. Burnham,42, of 18 Avery Ave., Alexandria Bay, pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and felony driving while intoxicated. Sentencing he was set for Sept. 11.
He was accused of DWI on July 6, 2007, on Bailey Settlement Road in the town of Alexandria. He also has felony DWI and unlicensed operation charges pending against him in St. Lawrence County Court.
