Lazore overcomes Jock, Benedict for victory in Wolfclan Truck Stop 25

HOGANSBURG — John Lazore recorded a major victory Saturday night in his quest for the Coors Light DIRTcar 358-modified championship at Mohawk International Raceway by winning the 21st running of the Wolfclan Truck Stop 25.

Mitchell Jock finished second, and Clayton Benedict took third. Jeff Marshall and Delbert LeGrow finished in the top five.

In the UMP/DIRT pro-stocks feature, Louie Jackson picked up a big win to keep him in the top 10 in points. Jackson beat Allen Peters to the finish line in the 20-lap feature. Travis Back, Dion Oakes and Ricky Thompson finished in the top five.

Kevin Fetterly Jr. won the 15-lap semipro feature. Stuart Mossow and Brent Kelsey finished second and third, respectively. Eli Gilbert won the 12-lap bandit race, with Claudia Tarbell and Dude Thompson finishing in the top three. Kevin Thompson was the winner in the 10-lap enduro race with Josh Jock and T.J. Herne finishing second and third, respectively.

MCCREADIE WINS RACE

Tim McCreadie of Watertown won the Topless 100 on Saturday night at the Batesville (Ark.) Speedway. McCreadie collected $25,000 for the victory in the late-model feature. With Friday's race program postponed due to rain — compressing the event from two days to one day — the purse was reduced to $25,000 to win from the original $40,000 to win.

FULLER FINISHES SIXTH

Tim Fuller of Watertown finished sixth in the World of Outlaws late-model, 50-lap feature at Screven Motor Speedway in Sylvania, Ga. Defending champion Steve Francis won the feature.

CHAMPIONS CROWNED

Otto Sitterly and Kevin Knopp were crowned race champions Saturday night at the Oswego Speedway. Sitterly won the supermodified division title, and Knopp claimed the small-block supermodified crown.

Russ Brown and Tim Barbeau won the twin small-block races, while Jerry Curran and Bobby Magner captured the twin supermodified races.

HAGAN, CASWELL WIN

Brandon Hagan won the sportsman feature Saturday night at Can-Am Motorsports Park in LaFargeville. Brandon Sweet and Jeff Stevenson finished in the top three.

Ryan Scott took the lead with three laps to go to win the IMCA modified feature. Dale Caswell and JJ Coursy finished second and third, respectively.
