ALBANY — In special session Tuesday, the state Senate confirmed Eugene L. Nicandri, Massena, as a member of the New York Power Authority board of trustees.

Mr. Nicandri was a St. Lawrence County Court judge from 1985 to 2004. He was appointed to the NYPA board in June by Gov. David A. Paterson. He replaces Thomas W. Scozzafava, Gouverneur, who has served on the board since March 2006.

Jonathan F. Foster, an investment banker from New York City, also was confirmed as a NYPA trustee.

Mr. Nicandri and Mr. Foster both were confirmed by a unanimous voice vote in a largely empty Senate chamber shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday.
