Worth, Seal grab leads at Stern Series tourney

CLAYTON — Hugh Worth III caught a five-bass limit of 21 pounds and four ounces to pace the field on the opening day of the Stren Series BP Eastern Division tournament on the Thousand Islands.

Worth, a native of Erie, Pa., is one of several professionals competing for as much as $65,000 in the tournament. The pros are also earning points to contend for the $1 million Stren Series Championship in Branson, Mo., on Nov. 5-8.

Zackery Seal of Eldred, Pa., led the co-angler division with a five-bass catch of 19 pounds and 13 ounces. Massena's Henry Stone came in second with a total catch of 19 pounds, nine ounces, and Mark Keniston of Camden finished in fifth place. The winner of this divisional tournament receives $35,000.
