Woman sentenced in felony DWI case
COUNTY COURT: Former resident of Adams receives five years' probation and $1,000 fine

A former Adams woman was sentenced Tuesday in Jefferson County Court to five years' probation after pleading guilty to felony driving while intoxicated.

Beverly J. Andrews,39, Sherburne, also was fined $1,000 and had her driver's license revoked. Her probation supervision will be transferred to Chenango County. She was charged with DWI on March 22 on County Route 76 in the town of Adams.

She had been sentenced in June 2004 to five years' probation after pleading guilty in April 2004 to felony DWI. She had been charged with DWI in January 2004, also on County Route 76. According to court documents, she violated probation by not showing up for inpatient alcohol and substance treatment after testing positive for marijuana use. She was resentenced in March 2006 to nine months in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and discharged from probation supervision.

In other court activity Tuesday:

Bridget A. Finley,36, Watertown, was sentenced to time served and three years' probation for a July 7 guilty plea to seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was accused of having cocaine and prescription narcotics Feb. 4 in a hotel room on Route 3, town of Watertown.

Amanda R. Burdick,28, of 307 Moulton St., pleaded guilty to fourth-degree attempted grand larceny. Sentencing was set for Oct. 24.

She was accused July 28 of stealing about $1,400 worth of items, including compact discs and DVDs, over a two-month period from Wal-Mart on Route 3 in the town of Watertown, where she was a cashier. Police said surveillance film revealed some of the thefts.
