CANTON — A blaze destroyed a County Route 15 garage containing woodworking tools late Tuesday morning, St. Lawrence County fire officials said.

The Canton Volunteer Fire Department responded about 10:55 a.m. to the fire at 110 County Route 15. The 1,800-square-foot garage was owned by Vernon and Linda Jobes. No injuries were reported. The garage wasn't insured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Several fire departments assisted at the scene, including DeKalb, Morley, Pyrites and Rensselaer Falls. The Potsdam, Heuvelton and Hermon fire companies were placed on standby.
