We want to acknowledge all those who attended or otherwise supported our Ninth Annual Sackets Harbor Jazz Festival on Aug. 9, particularly our chief sponsors, P.J. Simao and the Dealmaker Auto Group.

Jazz is a somewhat endangered art, which is why our festival was founded in 2000. Those who turned out this year got to hear some fine music and were able to enjoy the perfect weather that was provided without charge.

Although we had thought of discontinuing the festival after a funding shortfall last year, the enthusiasm of P.J. Simao and those who dropped their money into the hat this year has encouraged us to schedule our 10th annual festival for Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009. Be sure to mark your calendar.
