HOGANSBURG — The St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police Department is getting $187,680 from the federal Tribal Resources Grant Program.

The money will be used to purchase crime-fighting technology systems and basic law enforcement equipment, and for training and technical assistance.

"Ensuring that law enforcement agencies have the resources they need will reduce crime and enhance public safety, and this wise investment will help the tribal police department to obtain the equipment, technology and training to carry out its critical work," Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., said in a statement welcoming the additional funds.
