I'm writing to express my utter disappointment over the recent sale and display of Nazi paraphernalia at the Clayton Rotary Club's Gun and Sportsmen's Show. Having paid admission for myself and three family members, I entered the expo expecting to see booths displaying outdoorsman equipment. While these goods were in bounty, I was shocked to see two vendors who had accompanied such goods with items toting the Nazi swastika.

One such vendor had high-priced items original to the Nazi era and gear worn by Nazi soldiers during World War II. Another, more disgustingly, was selling low-cost pins, buttons and stickers with the same blazing emblem accompanied by an array of bumper stickers with ignorant phrases such as "AIDS cures Fags."

I understand the constitutional right to freedom of speech, but my disappointment is in the Rotary Club's allowance and association with hate-mongering vendors. The display extinguishes any honor and valor one might associate with the Rotary Club and suggests repugnant mentalities within the local community.

When approached regarding these vendors, one member suggested he had no idea such goods were being sold. Another agreed with my party's dismay but seemingly took no action outside of personally apologizing. Given the influx of tourists to the area on this particular weekend, I find this happening to be embarrassing and deplorable.
