POTSDAM — Parishville-Hopkinton won a tie-breaking shootout with Colton-Pierrepont, 3-2, to advance to the championship of the John Jeffers boys soccer tournament Friday.

James Reichert scored in the 20th minute for the Colts. Mark Norman netted the tying goal at the start of the second half for Parishville-Hopkinton.

POTSDAM 8,

MADRID-WADDINGTON 1

Jordan LaPoint and Grant Sharlow each scored a pair of goals as Potsdam defeated Madrid-Waddington, 8-1, in the opening round of the John Jeffers boys soccer tournament on Friday.

Ryan Bercume added two assists for the Sandstoners.

Tyler Colbert scored for the Yellow Jackets.

GOUVERNEUR 3, SOUTH JEFFERSON 3

Kenneth Martin scored the game-winning goal in a shootout win for Gouverneur to advance in the first round of the Edwards-Knox tournament in Russell.

The Wildcats won 3-2 in penalty kicks. Nick Cotton Baez and Matt Weaver also netted penalty kicks for Gouverneur.

CHATEAUGAY 2, EDWARDS-KNOX 1

The Bulldogs' winning goal came on an own goal in the 38th minute to beat the Cougars in the opener of the Edwards-Knox tournament in Russell.

Ryan LaBare scored for Chateaugay.

Dan Corbine scored off an assist from Ben Ruffles for Edwards-Knox.

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 4,

Josh Kohl knocked in a pair of goals to lead the Panthers in the opening round of the LaFargeville Tournament.

David Kalwarovski added two assists for Belleville Henderson.

LAFARGEVILLE 2, HARRISVILLE 1

Taylor Parks scored twice for the Red Knights in their opening-round victory in the LaFargeville Tournament.

Server Mustafaeve scored for Harrisville.

SACKETS HARBOR 3,

HERMON-DEKALB 1

Gage LeClair compiled a goal and two assists in the Patriots' win in the first round of the Edwards-Knox Tournament.

Jordan Williams added a pair of goals for Sackets Harbor.

Taylor Amo scored for Hermon-DeKalb.

GIRLS

HEUVELTON 4, OFA 2

Heather Johnson scored all four goals to lead the Bulldogs in an opening-round game of the OFA Tournament.

The Blue Devils took a 1-0 lead with a goal from Ashley Felt, but Johnson scored the final two goals of the first half and the first two goals of the second half to distance the Bulldogs.

Kristen Morley ended the scoring with a goal for OFA.

GOUVERNEUR 2, LISBON 1

Jasmine Frasher supplied both goals to lead the Wildcats in the OFA Tournament.

Taylor Armstrong scored for the Golden Knights.

HARRISVILLE 3, HERMON-DEKALB 0

Katie French, Katelyn Hart and Leah Malbeuf each scored a goal for the Pirates in the first round of the Edwards-Knox tournament in Russell.

Harrisville outshot the Demons 31-4.

CANTON 4, EDWARDS-KNOX 1

The Golden Bears scored all four goals in the second half, two of them from Kaitlyn Fanning in the first four minutes, to win an opening-round game of the Edwards-Knox tournament.

Fanning added a third goal. Matayla Locke made seven saves for Canton.

Kamrie Dandrow scored for the Cougars.

POTSDAM 7,

PARISHVILLE-HOPKINTON 2

Kaila Maguire scored three goals and added two assists to lead the Sandstoners in the opening game of the John Jeffers Tournament at Potsdam.

Cassie Grace added three goals, and Ginette Cornett also scored for Potsdam.

Trisha Lyn Guyette and Brooke Waite scored for the Panthers.

Crystal Mouthorp scored off a pass from Shaina MacIntosh in the 12th minute to give the Yellow Jackets a victory in the John Jeffers Tournament. Alex Martin made eight saves for the shutout.

TUPPER LAKE 1, INDIAN LAKE 0

Kyla Kenyon scored off a pass from Beth Keniston in the 29th minute to give the Lumberjacks a win in the opening game of the Tupper Lake Kickoff Classic. Maegan Duhaime made four saves for the shutout. Lake Placid beat Clifton-Fine 8-0 in the other tournament game.

CHATEAUGAY 7, SALMON RIVER 2

Marissa Cook scored five goals, including four in the second half, to lead the Bulldogs in the consolation game of the Chazy Tournament.

Joelle Porter scored both goals for the Shamrocks.

MASSENA 3, HERKIMER 0

Bettina Jermano scored two goals to lead the Red Raiders in a first-round game of the Lowville Tournament.

Kristin Paller added another goal for Massena, and Taylor Bacon made seven saves for the shutout.
