LOWVILLE — The Lewis County Youth Bureau Advisory Board is seeking organizations to apply for more than $9,000 for programs designed to prevent juvenile delinquency.
It is anticipated that up to $5,941 in Youth Initiative Funds, which require a dollar-for-dollar match from non-state or federal money, and up to $3,253 in Special Delinquency Prevention Program money will be available. The latter program does not require a match.
The money is to be used for youths who are most likely to become involved in the criminal justice or social services systems. Programs should be designed to encourage keeping children in their homes, rather than in institutions.
For more information or an application packet, contact Penny L. Demo at 376-5411 or by writing to Lewis County Youth Bureau, 5274 Outer Stowe Street Office Building, Lowville, N.Y. 13367. The submission deadline is Sept. 19.
