A Fort Drum soldier finished second in military qualifying for the ReMax World Long Drive Championship.

Roger Woodruff of Fort Drum came in second in the qualifying held at Ryder Golf Course on Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, N. C. Woodruff's long drive of 331 yards, five inches was second behind the winner, Ben Lampkin of the U. S. Navy in Norfolk, Va. Lampkin hit his ball 363 yards, two feet.
