CHATEAUGAY— Malone's Casey Warner netted a game-tying goal in the 80th minute to force overtime and an eventual 2-2 tie with Chateaugay in a nonleague boys soccer game Wednesday.

After a scoreless first half, Chateaugay's Alex Stalter scored first off an assist from Eric Dwyer in the 48th minute. Malone answered with a tying goal from Brandon Aanderud in the 53rd minute.

Josh Patnode scored next for Chateaugay (0-2-1 overall) in the 68th minute to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead. Kyle Demers made eight saves for Chateaugay.

Chris Beebe and Will LaPage combined for four saves for the Huskies (0-1-1).

VOLLEYBALL

MASSENA 3, GOUVERNEUR 0

The Red Raiders had little trouble getting by Gouverneur in the first NAC West Division game of the season in Gouverneur.

Massena won easily in straight sets, 25-4, 25-9 and 25-17. Genna Ransom had 21 assists while Ruth Kazylak recorded five aces and nine service points. Jowelle Smoke-Ramirez had seven kills for Massena.

Brooke Fuller led Gouverneur with nine sets, four assists and one kill. Sarah Cronk added three service points for the Wildcats.

OFA 3, MADRID-WADDINGTON 2

The Blue Devils overcame a 2-0 deficit and rallied to beat the Yellow Jackets in an East Division game in Madrid.

Ogdensburg Free Academy (1-0) lost the first two sets 25-17 and 25-20 before sweeping the final three 25-20, 25-23 and 25-20. Aubrey Badlam led OFA with 10 assists and six kills.

Abbey Shoen accumulated 15 points, 10 aces and 12 kills for Madrid-Waddington (0-1). April Streeter added 13 points and four aces for the Yellow Jackets.

POTSDAM 3, SALMON RIVER 2

The Sandstoners gutted out a tough East Division win over Salmon River in Potsdam.

Individual game scores were not available.

Melani Merrill and Katie Phelan had 16 points and five kills each. Kristy Huczel supplied nine points and nine kills while Crystal Wilson added eight points for Potsdam (1-0).

CANTON 3, EDWARDS-KNOX 0

The Golden Bears easily downed Edwards-Knox in straight sets in an East Division matchup with Edwards-Knox in Canton.

Canton won 25-4, 25-14 and 25-13.

Heather Lottie had nine aces and scored nine service points to lead Canton (1-0).

Edwards-Knox dropped to 0-1 overall.

MALONE 3, TUPPER LAKE 0

The Huskies downed the Lumberjacks in straight sets to earn a nonleague win in Tupper Lake.

Malone won 28-26, 25-19 and 25-10. Alyssa Farmer led the Huskies (1-0) with 11 points, five aces, five kills and two blocks. Hillary Boyea added 16 points and 11 aces for Malone.

Tupper Lake fell to 0-1 overall.
