POTSDAM — SUNY Potsdam blew past Cazenovia with a convincing 5-0 win in college women's soccer Wednesday.

Jess Mehm scored twice for SUNY Potsdam. Dedra Palmer, Sam Ahlfeld, and Kathleen Frear added goals for the Bears (3-0). Sarah Casey made three saves for Potsdam.

JEFFERSON CC 3, CLINTON CC 1

Wendy Getman, Lauren Peters and Brittany Trahan scored goals as the Cannoneers opened the season with a Region 3 win at Plattsburgh.

Theresa Staab, Blair Kiernan and Nikkia Raso notched assists, while JCC goalie Holly Lyndaker recorded nine saves.

Cannoneers fall to NCCC, 6-0, in seaon opener

SARANAC LAKE — Three players scored two goals apiece as host North Country CC oulasted Jefferson 6-0 during a nonconference men's soccer game.

Ephran Foso, Ryan Garry and Kenny Rutkowski nothced goals for NCCC.

The Cannoneers (0-1) didn't manage a shot on goal in the first game of the season.
