CANTON — St. Lawrence NYSARC will have the county's first fundraising walk to benefit local people with autism Sept. 13 in the village park.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., followed by the walk at 10. Assemblywoman Dierdre K. Scozzafava, R-Gouverneur, will host the opening ceremonies.

The walk is a non-competitive event to provide education about autism and raise money to support programs. Walkers who raise at least $50 will receive a free T-shirt. All registered participants will receive a gift bag.
