BALMAT — Fowler residents are being asked how to improve their community.
Fowler town councilors are working with the St. Lawrence County Housing Council on a $33,000, 10-month plan to draft a vision for the community. The process will consist of residential surveys, community forums and planning sessions.
Residential surveys asking for input on areas such as recreation, schools and roads are being mailed. Responses received by Sept. 15 will be included in a drawing for $100. Community forums will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 30 at Fowler Elementary School and 10 a.m. Oct. 1 at town hall. Suggestions will guide town officials working with housing council staff to draft the plan.
A final report will be given to town councilors in June.
The study is funded by a federal community development grant, the Fort Drum Area Quality Communities Project and the town.
