Jury selection will begin Monday morning in the murder trial of Michial E. Foster, who is accused of killing his former girlfriend, Alicia C. VanVranken Wasilewski, 30, in 1996.
Foster, 52, Deferiet, is charged with second-degree murder in connection with the May 29, 1996, disappearance of Ms. Wasilewski from her South Meadow Street residence.
Her body lay undiscovered in a wooded area off Ives Street Road until Sept. 15, when a man walking his dog found the remains.
Foster spent two years in prison on a weapon-possession conviction after police investigating Ms. Wasilewski's disappearance found a sawed-off shotgun on property he owned in the town of Adams.
He is represented by attorney Gary W. Miles.
