CANTON — The St. Lawrence University men's hockey team has added one more prospect to its burgeoning 2008 recruiting class.

Saints head coach Joe Marsh confirmed Friday that center Max Mobley is the ninth recruit to join the program this season. Mobley, a native of Glenville, Ariz., has played the last three years with the North Iowa Outlaws of the North American Hockey League.

"He's an awesome kid who can absolutely fly," Marsh said. "We'll be pretty deep up front."

At 5-foot-8 and 175 pounds, Mobley is the Outlaws' career leader in goals, assists, points and games played. He came to St. Lawrence with goalie recruit Robby Moss, who played two seasons for North Iowa.

SLU opens the 2008 campaign with a preseason matchup against the University of Guelph (Ontario). The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Appleton Arena.
