The following motorists were charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

■ Jamal J. Benjamin, 34, of 101C Purcell Drive, Clayton, also was charged by Jefferson County sheriff's deputies with failure to keep right after he was involved in a one-car accident at 3:36 a.m. Saturday on Route 12 in the town of Clayton.

Mr. Benjamin was northbound when he drove off the left side of the road and hit a guardrail, causing the car to roll over, land back on its wheels and coast another 50 yards before coming to a stop, deputies said. He was found in the driver's seat with the motor running, they said.

He allegedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.12 percent. State law says a BAC of 0.08 percent or higher constitutes intoxication.

■ Frances I. Koscinski, 34, Oriskany, also was charged by Lewis County sheriff's deputies with failure to reduce speed on a curve after she was involved in a one-car accident at 3:11 a.m. Saturday on Route 26 in the town of West Turin.

Ms. Koscinski was northbound when she lost control of her car around a corner, causing it to go off the left side of the road, hit a ditch, spin around and continue backward into a tree, deputies said. She was taken by Turin ambulance to Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville, for treatment of unspecified injuries and later was released.

Ms. Koscinski allegedly had a BAC of 0.11 percent.

■ William W. Church, 26, Edwards, was charged by state police at 1:50 a.m. Saturday on Route 812 in the town of Diana. No further information was provided.

■ Charles W. Madore, 30, of 338 Park St., Tupper Lake, was charged by Tupper Lake village police on Mill Street early Saturday. Police said he had a BAC of 0.16 percent.

■ Bradley K. Bookman, 23, of 20 Scotch Grove Road, Pulaski, also was charged with speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana at 2:45 a.m. Saturday on Route 11 in the town of Sandy Creek. He allegedly had a BAC of 0.12 percent and was found in possession of about 1.5 grams of marijuana.

■ Megan A. O'Neill, 27, Richland, was charged with aggravated DWI at 11:48 p.m. Friday on County Route 2 in the town of Richland. No BAC was available, but an aggravated DWI charge requires one of 0.18 percent or higher.
