CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Molly Schaus stopped all 26 shots she faced to lead the Boston College women's hockey team to a 2-0 win over Clarkson University in a nonconference, season-opening game for both teams Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles picked up both of their goals in the second period. Kelli Stack scored at 3 minutes, 23 seconds, and Danielle Welch added another goal at 15:16.

Lauren Dahm made 23 saves for the Golden Knights.

MEN'S SOCCER

ST. LAWRENCE 3, CLARKSON 2 (OT)

Brendan Gorman scored off assists from Paul LaMarca and James Stewart in the 102nd minute to give the Saints an overtime win over rival Clarkson in a Liberty League game in Potsdam.

Kiel Dwyer and James Stewart also scored goals for St. Lawrence University (7-4, 2-1).

Scott Desmond and Brian Buckner scored for the Golden Knights (5-5-1, 0-3).

SUNY CORTLAND 3, SUNY POTSDAM 0

Andrew Schwert scored one goal and added one assist to lead the Red Dragons past SUNY Potsdam (4-7-2, 0-4) in a SUNYAC contest in Cortland.

Kyle Stepanovsky and Mark Gunsch each added goals for SUNY Cortland (5-2-2, 3-0-1).

SUNY CANTON 7, FISHER 0

Prince Sabatto and Bismark Ansah scored two goals to lead SUNY Canton (4-4-2, 4-1-1) to a Sunrise Conference win at Fisher College.

Kevin Hicks, Josh Mowery and Homero Flores also scored for the Kangaroos.

R.J. Ward turned aside all nine shots he faced to launch the Cannoneers to a Mid-State Athletic Conference win over the Red Barons (1-10-1, 0-5) in Corning.

Jordan Reardon, Dan Sharlow and Jordan Booher each provided a goal for Jefferson Community College (2-8, 2-1). Steven Barry chipped in two assists.

Stanzi McGlynn, Megan Howard and Lauren Annaldo each scored goals to lead the Saints (8-1-2) to a nonconference win over Nazareth in Rochester.

Meghan Finn scored for Nazareth (7-4).

St. John Fisher (2-8-1) scored an own-goal in the 68th minute to pick up a tie with the Golden Knights in a nonconference game in Potsdam.

Jill Collins scored off a pass from Andrea Walsh in the 35th minute for Clarkson (3-7-2).

SUNY CORTLAND 1, SUNY POTSDAM 0

Ashley Mowhorter connected on a pass from Kelsey Allen in the 17th minute to give SUNY Cortland a win over the Bears (7-3-2, 0-3-1) in a SUNYAC contest in Potsdam. Pam Monnier made one save for the Red Dragons (5-3-2, 3-1).

Justine Monahan and Vanessa Badlam each supplied two goals and one assist to lead the Kangaroos (6-1-1, 5-0-1) past host Fisher College in a Sunrise Conference game in Boston.

Jessica Brosch picked up two goals, and Aimee Bookmiller and Niki Perkins each added one goal for SUNY Canton.

JEFFERSON CC 2, CORNING CC 1

Blair Kiernan's two second-half goals allowed the Cannoneers to hang on in Corning for their first Mid-State Athletic Conference victory.

Ashley Lothrop supplied an assist for Jefferson Community College (8-3-1, 1-2), and Holly Lyndaker finished with three saves. Alissa Sands scored on a penalty kick for Corning Community College (2-8-1, 0-5).

HAMILTON 3, ST. LAWRENCE 1

Erin McNally assisted on two goals as the Continentals (3-4, 1-2) picked up a Liberty League win over St. Lawrence University in Canton. Mary Lancaster, Amy Allen and Carly Andrascik scored goals for Hamilton. Taylor Vogt scored for SLU (5-4, 2-1).

SAINTS WIN TITLES

Tupper Lake native Wendy Pavlus was the winner in the women's race, and Daniel Ramsey won the men's race to lead the St. Lawrence University women's and men's teams to titles at the Liberty League championship meet in Canton.

Pavlus ran the 6-kilometer course in 22 minutes, 28 seconds for SLU. Ramsey finished the 8-kilometer course in 25:41.

SLU's women finished with 21 points, and Vassar was second with 51. Clarkson was sixth with 154. SLU's men finished with 22 points, and Rensselaer was second with 56. Clarkson was fourth with 118.

FORTH LEADS KANGAROOS

Justin Forth finished in 113th place to lead an incomplete SUNY Canton team at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational. Byron Danis came in 140th, and Ben Villani was 208th for SUNY Canton.

CLARKSON DROPS TWO

Jenna Stock had 24 assists in the first match and seven kills in the second for Clarkson (10-13), but the Golden Knights dropped two matches in the second day of the Stevens Invitational at Hoboken, N.J.

Clarkson lost its opening match to St. Mary's (Maryland) 19-25, 26-28, 25-7, 25-14, 15-8 and was swept 25-22, 25-21, 25-18 by Montclair State.

SATKOWSKI LOSES QUARTERFINAL

St. Lawrence University's top singles player, Jon Satkowski, was eliminated in the second around of the ITA Championships in Willingboro, N.J., losing 6-4, 6-3 to Vassar's Mike Mattelson.
