LOWVILLE — The trial of a Lyons Falls man charged with having sexual contact with two juvenile girls is slated to begin today.

The trial of Gale E. VanAlstine Jr., 40, is to commence with jury selection at 9 a.m., with Lewis County Judge Charles C. Merrell presiding.

Mr. VanAlstine was charged with first-degree criminal sexual act, first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was charged with having sexual contact with two juvenile girls last June in the town of Greig.
