Beaver River placed four runners in the top-five positions to clinch first place in Frontier League boys cross country by defeating Watertown, 20-37, and South Lewis, 15-49, in a league meet Tuesday at Watertown High School.
Nick Lynch took first place to lead the Cyclones (5-1) over South Lewis, 15-49. Matt Cheney, Logan Kempney, Carlos Ruis II and Ryan Scanlon followed in succession to polish off the top five for the Beavers (6-0).
Sam Anderson finished 10th for the Falcons (0-6).
SOUTH JEFFERSON 18, CARTHAGE 45
Nate Traynor crossed the finish line first to lead the Spartans to a league victory at Carthage.
Sean Hanson claimed second place for South Jefferson (4-2).
Pat Brady finished third for Carthage (1-5).
CANTON WINS THREE
Matt Pierce finished 30 seconds ahead to lead Canton (8-1) to three wins in a Northern Athletic Conference meet in Tupper Lake.
Pierce finished in 16 minutes, 38 seconds, and Tupper Lake's Miles Schanck was second in 17:08.
Canton picked up a 27-28 win over Malone (5-2) and a 26-29 win over Tupper Lake. Canton also defeated an incomplete team from Brushton-Moira (0-9). The Lumberjacks beat Malone 27-28 in the other matchup.
OFA PICKS UP PAIR
Jake Fredericks finished third overall to lead Ogdensburg Free Academy (5-2) to a 27-28 win over Potsdam and a win over an incomplete team from Gouverneur (0-6) in an NAC race at Clarkson University in Potsdam.
Cory Hosken was the individual winner to lead Potsdam (2-5).
FLYERS WIN TWO
Jon Eng finished first and led Norwood-Norfolk (7-0) to a 23-36 win over Salmon River and a 19-40 win over Massena (2-5) in an NAC race in Fort Covington. Salmon River (2-4) picked up a 24-31 win over the Red Raiders.

BEAVERS SWEEP TRI-MEET
Karlee Duffer's third-place finish paced Beaver River to victories over Watertown, 21-40, and South Lewis, 20-40, in a Frontier League tri-meet at Watertown High School.
Deidra Fuller followed Duffer into fourth place for Beaver River (6-0), and Emma Petzoldt finished fifth. Victoria Campanian captured second place, which allowed South Lewis (3-3) to edge the Cyclones, 27-28.
Jillian Busby claimed first place to lead the way for Watertown (2-4).
SOUTH JEFFERSON 15, CARTHAGE 49
Leah Williams claimed first place to guide the Spartans to the league victory at Carthage.
Carly Vantassel secured second for South Jefferson (5-1), which placed five runners in the top five.
CANTON SWEEPS
Aimee Beaudette finished first overall to lead Canton (9-0) to a 21-34 win over Malone and wins over incomplete Tupper Lake and Brushton-Moira teams in an NAC race in Tupper Lake.
BLUE DEVILS WIN TWICE
Gouverneur (0-4) claimed the top three spots, led by Megan Morrow, but had an incomplete team at an NAC meet in Potsdam. OFA (6-1), led by a fourth-place finish from Megan Morrison, picked up a 17-41 win over Potsdam (2-5).
NORWOOD-NORFOLK WINS PAIR
Emily Cotey was first overall to lead the Flyers (6-1) to a 17-44 win over Salmon River and a 15-50 win over Massena (0-5) in a race in Fort Covington. Salmon River (2-4) picked up a 15-50 win over Massena.

Emily Sauter contributed to four first-place events to lead the Comets to a Frontier League "B" Division victory at Carthage.
Sauter claimed the 50 and 100 freestyles, and she swam on the winning 200 and 400 free relays.
Maggie Pogue took the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly, Ashley Peck captured the 200 and 500 frees, and both swam on the first-place 400 free relay for Carthage (8-2).
Brittany DuBois secured the 100 backstroke and was a part of the fastest 200 medley relay for the Warriors (6-4).

WEST CANADA VALLEY 81
Rina Knapp captured the 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle to help lift the Vikings to a "C" Division victory at Clayton.
Paige Montroy was fastest in the 100 backstroke and swam on the first-place 200 medley relay for Thousand Islands (11-0).
Kelly Fellows contributed to two winning relays (200, 400 free) for West Canada Valley (0-8).
WATERTOWN 101, BEAVER RIVER 77
Paige LaBarr and Aubrey Kettrick each swam to victory in four races to propel the Cyclones to victory over the Beavers at Watertown.
LaBarr was victorious in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke, and contributed to the winning 200 medley and 200 free relays.
Kettrick added individual victories in the 100 free and 100 backstroke and also pitched in on the winning 200 medley relay and 200 free relay for the Cyclones (7-4 overall, 7-2 league).
Emily Gydesen won the 500 free for the Beavers (3-7).
OFA 126, EDWARDS-KNOX 43
The Blue Devils won every event to dominate the Cougars (1-5) in a Northern Athletic Conference interdivision meet in Ogdensburg.
Kelli Barr won the 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley. Kylie Barr took first in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly for OFA (7-1).

Aubrey Czajkowski and Mary-Claire Gabri led the Red Raiders (5-2) with one individual win each and two relay wins in an interdivision meet in Massena.
Emily Smith won the 200 individual medley, and Laura Stone took the 100 butterfly for Malone (2-4).

Emilie Norton recorded two wins as the Larries swam to an interdivision win over the Wildcats in Brasher Falls.
Norton won the 200 individual medley and the 500 freestyle for St. Lawrence (8-0).
Darien VanOrnum and Tess Anderson picked up wins for Gouverneur (0-7) in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke, respectively.

The Bulldogs remained undefeated with a sweep over the Red Raiders in an NAC interdivision match in Massena.
Chateaugay (11-0) won by 25-12, 26-24, 25-16.
Ruth Kazylak had eight points and six blocks to lead Massena (9-2).

The Huskies (10-1) edged the Shamrocks 26-24, 25-20, 23-25, 25-15 to win an interdivision contest in Fort Covington.
Rachel Benedict had nine points, while Aubrey Phillips supplied nine points and seven kills for Salmon River (4-7).

Potsdam won 25-13, 19-25, 25-23, 25-17 in an interdivision match in Potsdam.
Melani Merrill had 14 points and five aces to lead the Sandstoners (3-7).

The Panthers (6-5) downed the Wildcats 25-13, 25-20, 25-2 in an interdivision match at Brushton.
