COLTON — Six people were injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday night at routes 3 and 56, state police said.

Fugrand Lin, 59, West Windsor, N.J., was driving a 2004 Toyota Sienna van carrying four passengers about 6:20 p.m. when he stopped at Route 56, looking to make a left onto Route 3. Troopers said he didn't see a vehicle heading west on Route 3 driven by George D. Metcalf, 71, Mattydale, and hit it.

Mr. Metcalf's vehicle, a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria, overturned. Mr. Metcalf complained of chest pain.

Also injured were Fugrand Lin, who had back, pelvis and leg pain; West Windsor residents Yu Fung Lin, 59, who had leg pain, and Chiung-Hua Lin, 57, who had right ankle pain; Berkeley, Calif., resident Ger-Shung Lee, 56, who had rib fractures, and Richmond, Calif., resident Maun Jan Lin, 56, who had rib pain.

Those injured were taken to various hospitals, including Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, Adirondack Medical Center, Saranac Lake, and Clifton-Fine Hospital, Star Lake.

Fugrand Lin was charged with failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
