But don't forget to look out your window this weekend and savor the beauty of the season. Better yet, take a walk in the sun and let the colors of autumn renew the spirit and refresh the soul.
It does not much matter where you are in the north country: October is a special month, the grand link between summer and winter, overwhelming us with spectacular colors, nature almost testing us to see if we can name such hues and describe such beauty.
We live in a special part of the world, graced by Lake Ontario, the St. Lawrence River, Tug Hill, the Adirondacks, and many other natural wonders seemingly around every bend of the road this season.
Take a walk in the woods. Canoe down your favorite stream. Pick apples. Drive along a country road. Watch the sunset. Stare at the stars.
But take time to enjoy the fall and appreciate the north country. We truly are blessed to be living here. Sometimes we have to stop and remember that.
