CLIFTON PARK— Chateaugay returned to state volleyball pool play by defeating Section 2's Mayfield in straight games Saturday at Shenendehowa High School.

The Bulldogs (20-0), who defeated Mayfield 25-15, 25-23, 25-18, will be in action on Saturday at the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls.

BURNT HILLS 3, MASSENA 0

The Red Raiders didn't score more than 10 points in any game as Section 2's Burnt Hills defeated Massena in the state Class B regionals at Shenendehowa High School.

Burnt Hills beat Massena (11-7), 25-3, 25-9, 25-8, to advance to pool play next weekend.

LAKE GEORGE 3, OFA 0

Lake George eliminated Ogdensburg Free Academy from its first-ever state playoff appearance in three games, 25-16, 25-15, 25-13, in the state Class C regionals at Shenendehowa High School.

Jhenna King had seven points and three aces to lead OFA (12-9). Aubrey Badlam added six points with three aces.

RAVENA 3, MALONE 0

Ravena swept Malone to advance in the state Class A regionals at Shenendehowa High School.

Section 2's Ravena won 25-6, 25-8, 25-12 to eliminate Malone (10-6).

GIRLS SWIMMING

SAUTER SHINES AT QUALIFIER

Emily Sauter of Carthage earned second place in the 50-yard freestyle and sixth place in the 100 backstroke at the Section 3 state qualifier at Nottingham High School in Syracuse.

Sauter also teamed with Heather Mushtare, Ashley Peck and Margaret Pogue to claim sixth place in the 200 free relay and seventh in the 200 medley relay.

Pogue finished seventh in the 100 butterfly.

Aubrey Kettrick of Watertown finished third in the 50 free and fourth in the 100 free. She joined Danielle Gebo, Kathryn McKinney and Paige LaBarr to capture eighth place in the 200 free relay.

Carissa Risucci of Whitesboro, which competes in the Frontier League, claimed fourth place in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 200 individual medley. She teamed with Christina Procida, Keri Cecilia and Amanda Burleigh to take seventh in the 400 free relay. Burleigh was fifth in the 50 free.

Shelby Maldonado and Sylvia Ross were sixth and eighth, respectively, in diving for Holland Patent.

Sauter (50 free), Kettrick (50, 100 free), Risucci (100 breaststroke) and Burleigh (50 free) have qualified to compete at the state meet on Nov. 21-22 at the Burt Flickinger Athletic Center at Erie Community College in Buffalo.
