City police said a teenager shot his sister and a friend with a rifle while drunk at his home early Saturday morning.

Grant D. Robinson, 18, of 1215 Washington St., was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and second-degree menacing and one count each of first-degree reckless endangerment and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Police said Mr. Robinson discharged a Arossi .410 caliber shotgun through a closed door, knowing that his sister, Carol, 20, and a friend, Shane P. Dyer, 21, of 459 S. Massey St. were behind it.

Ms. Robinson was hit in her back shoulder, while Mr. Dyer received injuries to his chest. Both were taken to Samaritan Medical Center.

Mr. Dyer, the 2006 City Men's Golf champion, was treated and released. Ms. Robinson was in fair condition as of Saturday evening, according to hospital spokeswoman Krista A. Kittle.

Police said Mr. Robinson also threatened his father, Dennis P., with the weapon but did not fire in his direction. The teenager, who was restrained by friends until police arrived, was also taken to the hospital for undisclosed reasons. Police arrested him when he was discharged at 9:52 a.m.

Mr. Robinson was arraigned and ordered held in lieu of $5,000 cash bail at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building. His parents posted bail at 5 p.m. Saturday.
