SANDY CREEK — Akeebu Lettsome scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help guide the South Jefferson boys basketball team to a 46-35 victory over Sandy Creek in the championship game of the Sandy Creek Tournament on Saturday.

Eric Pond, the tournament MVP, added 10 points and six rebounds for the Spartans (2-0).

Mike Elkin scored 10 points for the Comets (2-1).

PULASKI 72, LYME 65 (OT)

Josh Wilson's game-high 25 points weren't enough to carry the Indians in the consolation game of the Sandy Creek Tournament.

Tom Curry led Pulaski with 21 points, while Dustin Cox scored 19.

Josh Lothrop turned in 21 points for Lyme (1-2).

NORTHEASTERN CLINTON 64,

MALONE 50

Matt Farbotko led all scorers with 26 points and Northeastern Clinton cruised to the Bobcat Shoot championship over the Huskies in Ellenburg.

Jake Gravel had 16 points, and Casey Warner contributed 10 points for Malone (1-1).

CHATEAUGAY 64,

NORTHERN ADIRONDACK 39

The Bulldogs opened up a 23-point halftime lead en route to a win over host Northern Adirondack in the consolation round of the Bobcat Shootout in Ellenburg.

Drew Boyea led Chateaugay (1-1) with 13 points, and Brad Spinner added 12. Pete Patterson had 19 points and 12 rebounds for Northern Adirondack.

TAMARACK 47, CANTON 43

Tamarack held off the Golden Bears to capture the Watervliet Tip-Off Tournament championship with help from Steve Hunt.

Hunt scored 22 points for Tamarack. Mike Murray nailed five 3-pointers and led Canton (1-1) with 22 points.

MASSENA 83, CARDINAL O'HARA 64

Matt Perry scored a career-high 30 points as the Red Raiders pounded Cardinal O'Hara in the consolation round of the VVS Tournament in Vernon.

Cody Clary supplied 18 points, and JP Dumas added 14 for Massena (1-1). Reggie Martin led Cardinal O'Hara with 19 points.

OFA 51, PLATTSBURGH 45

Gene Bouyer totaled 27 points to propel the Blue Devils to a nonleague win in their first game of the season in Ogdensburg.

Ogdensburg Free Academy hung on to a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter with help from Owen Luckie, who scored nine points.

Kyle Knight had 14 points, and Kenyon Smith added 10 for Plattsburgh.

POTSDAM 73, SALMON RIVER 33

The Sandstoners got 24 points from Zach Adams in a nonleague win over the Shamrocks in Fort Covington.

Chris Whispell added 16 points, and Josh Adams and Scott Bartenstein chipped in 12 each for Potsdam (1-0).

William Benko contributed 12 points for Salmon River (0-2).

BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 68,

HEUVELTON 60

Tyler Abbott's 21 points, nine rebounds and five steals led the host Panthers to a nonleague victory.

David Putnam scored 18 points to pace the Bulldogs (0-1), who lead by 11 in the third quarter. But Belleville Henderson (3-0) posted 40 second-half points en route to the win.

Josh Kohl had 12 points and four steals, while Robert Woytowicz hauled down 12 rebounds for the Panthers.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

ST. REGIS FALLS 34, MORRISTOWN 39

Krista Lucas hit five 3-pointers, including three in the fourth quarter, to earn a Morristown Tournament MVP award and help give the Saints the title in Morristown.

Lucas finished with 16 points for St. Regis Falls (2-0). Lizzy Whalen led the Green Rockets (2-1) with nine points and 10 rebounds.

GOUVERNEUR 28, LAFARGEVILLE 25

Lesley Turner scored 17 points as the Wildcats (1-1) defeated LaFargeville in the consolation round of the Morristown Tournament.

Taylor Switzer scored seven points to lead LaFargeville (0-2).

NORTHEASTERN CLINTON 64,

MASSENA 57

Meagan McComb scored 16 points as Northeastern Clinton defeated the Red Raiders in the championship game of the Section 10/7 Challenge in Plattsburgh.

McComb was named player of the game. Taylor Bacon scored 22 points to lead all scorers for Massena (1-1).

MALONE 50, PLATTSBURGH 31

Maggie Aguglia scored 11 points, and Abby Premo and Kelsey Johnson added 10 each as the Huskies downed the Hornets in the consolation round of the Section 10/7 Challenge in Plattsburgh.

Malone (1-1) opened the game on a 17-6 run and pulled away in the third quarter with a 11-2 run.

ALEXANDRIA 36,

NORWOOD-NORFOLK 26

Kelsy Heschke scored 11 points to lead the Purple Ghosts to a nonleague win over the Flyers in Norwood.

Emily Peterson added eight points for Alexandria (1-0). Emily Cody paced Norwood-Norfolk (0-1) with 10 points.

HOCKEY

WILLIAMSVILLE NORTH 3, MASSENA 1

Jake Rosen had a goal and an assist to lead Williamsville North to its own tournament championship over the Red Raiders.

Scott Simms and Mark Maraschiello scored for Williamsville North.

Connor Riley scored off an assist from David Peets for Massena (1-1).

NORWOOD-NORFOLK 8, TUPPER LAKE 1

Jake Ladoceur tallied a pair of goals and three assists as the Flyers cruised to a Northern Athletic Conference Division II victory over host Tupper Lake.

Lyndon Gillis's first-period goal gave the Lumberjacks (0-1) an early lead, but the Flyers (1-1) notched four scores in the second to take control.

Billy Jackson added two goals for Norwood-Norfolk.

ONTARIO BAY 3, UTICA PROCTOR 1

Hunter Vanhorn contributed a goal and an assist as the Storm won a nonleague game at Pulaski.

John Cobb and Eddie Tagliareni also scored for Ontario Bay (1-1), while Justin LaLone made 25 saves.
