BOSTON — The St. Lawrence University men's hockey team made its first appearance in Boston University's Agganis Arena on Saturday night .

But the Saints didn't leave with too many fond memories.

Junior Zach Cohen notched what proved to be the game-winner at 19 minutes, 40 seconds of the first period, and the Terriers added two more goals en route to a 4-1 nonconference victory over the Saints before 4,322 fans.

Mike McKenzie buried the Saints' power-play goal in the first period on an assist from Jeremiah Cunningham. The tally tied the score at 1-1, but four minutes later, Cohen struck for the clincher.

The result provided the Saints (5-7-1) with just another reminder of what has gone wrong in recent weeks. They've won only once in their past seven outings, and their 4-2 start to the season must seem like a distant memory.

The second period, when SLU fired 14 shots on goal, wasn't kind, either, as BU goalie Kieran Millan turned away each one on his way to a 28-save performance.

"We have been having a tough time putting the puck in the net, and it hurt us tonight," SLU coach Joe Marsh said. "We had some great chances but just couldn't put one away."

Boston University's special teams sealed the win during the second period. Colin Wilson connected for a power-play score at 14:41, while Kevin Shattenkirk posted a short-handed score at 18:52.

Junior goalie Kain Tisi got the start for St. Lawrence, making 25 saves in his first appearance this season.

"BU is an outstanding team in transition, and really skilled offensively," Marsh said. "They put a lot of pressure on your defense, and certainly showed that they can turn it around in a hurry."
