Tim McCreadie walked away from an accident Friday night during a World of Outlaws late model heat race at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa.
McCreadie barrel-rolled his car twice in a mishap off turn four. Making only his fifth start since returning last week from a serious back injury suffered in a Jan. 15 crash during the Chili Bowl midget nationals in Tulsa, Okla., the Watertown native's car slid up the track when he hit a spot of water along the inside groove of the track.
His car made contact with another car and was then hit by his Sweeteners Plus teammate Vic Coffey of Caledonia. The bump from Coffey sent McCreadie's car into a pair of flips. It came to rest on its wheels and McCreadie climbed out of the car. He later said he was sore, but not injured. He was expected to drive his backup car Saturday night in an effort to qualify for the Firecracker 100.
