The Watertown City Council is expected to act on a resolution Monday that appoints John B. Johnson Jr. as the city's representative to the Development Authority of the North Country board of directors.
Mr. Johnson is now a non-voting member of the board; if approved, the new designation will give him the authority to act on issues brought before the board.
Mr. Johnson, who also is the publisher of the Watertown Daily Times, has been a member of the board since DANC's inception in the mid-1980s.
The city's action will fill a gap opened when Elizabeth C. Fipps announced last month that she will not seek another term on the DANC board. Her term expires Aug. 19.
